Be More Huddo.
I can’t believe I’m writing another post like this—another tribute to someone good, someone kind, someone who isn’t coming home.
Huddo was one of the rare ones in the dog world. Quietly brilliant, endlessly kind, and refreshingly humble. She didn’t chase recognition. She didn’t post for the praise. She didn’t judge people for their methods, their mistakes, or their learning curves. She just worked. Gently. Consistently. Always with the dogs in mind.
Her loss is devastating. It’s senseless. And it’s left a hole in the community, whether you knew her closely or just crossed paths briefly.
But if there’s one thing I want to carry forward—one thing I hope more of us take from her—it’s her ethos. Her quiet integrity. Her refusal to engage in the judgement and ego that can so easily take over our world.
So from here on out, I want to try to “Be More Huddo.”
Lift others up.
Assume the best.
Do right by the dogs, and the people working hard to help them.
Work quietly, let the results speak.
Because that’s the kind of legacy she deserves. I wish I could thank her for her support. I wish I had done it at the time. I hope her family knows that the impact of her loss is immeasurable.
